We know that a lot of families shy away from PTA out of fear of requirements to volunteer. We appreciate support from every family whether you volunteer or not. Having your name on our roster, shows your support when you can’t be there in person.

If you are a member, you also earn discounts from TX PTA and National PTA because when you are part of DSE PTA, your voice is heard statewide and nationwide! The PTA mission is to make every child’s potential a reality and by being a member, you make a lasting impact on Texas laws to improve public education.

Your $10 membership helps volunteers provide over 30 programs at DSE including art, math, reading, outdoor learning, science, exercise, and spelling. PTA also funds school assemblies, author visits, DSHS senior scholarships, staff plan of works, staff appreciation events, talent show, and recess supplies. We are lucky to have such supportive staff and families. It’s been a great school year so far and it’s not too late to support PTA or volunteer.

Did you know that DSE PTA grants two $500 scholarships to DSHS seniors that attended DSE? A committee is needed to review applicants. This can be done entirely from home. Please email scholarships@dsepta.org if you are interested in helping.

Talent Show is 4/7 @ 6:30 pm. We can’t wait to see students show off their talents! Auditions are 3/22 and 3/23. Due to time constraints, a committee will select the acts that make it into the show. Fill out this form to audition and sign up for an audition time. Mandatory rehearsal on 4/6 for those in the show.  Questions?

The House Store winner for this month was announced and the kids get to shop Thursday and Friday (class schedule).  All month long, they make sure they are following directions, helping others, and showing leadership to earn house points.  Want to see the store and help the students shop?  Sign up for an hour at a time.

PTA is hosting Culture Fair again at DSE on March 3.  Cultural dishes and performances start at 5 pm.  Mark your calendar now so you don’t miss the fun!
DSE staff is AMAZING! Thank you for providing soups for the SOUPER lunch. Everyone likes to send their love in different ways and we are all on a different schedule so pick a day to donate two hours as lunch monitor or drop off snacks for staff planning meetings.  THANK YOU!

 

Apex is coming back to DSE!  We are fundraising for an outdoor learning center and classroom supplies. Apex helps us make awesome improvements to DSE. We have fundraised for playgrounds and shade covers in the past.  Last year, we raised money for a digital marquee, which will be installed in the next few months. Apex helps to make exciting things happen and brings so much energy to campus. We can’t wait for the obstacle course on March 10.
