A Message From the President
Happy New Year! We’re looking forward to a great Spring semester. Things are back in full swing at DSES and our wonderful volunteers are hard at work. Inna Boren is the January recipient of the PTA front row parking spot for her dedication to the PIRS program, (Partners in Reading) which helps facilitate our students’ love of reading. We thank you, Inna Boren, for all your time and volunteer work this year!
Awards ceremonies are this Thursday and Friday and a trial spirit stick sale will be this Friday morning from 7-7:40 (1/8/16). Spirit stick sales go towards purchasing Math Stars, Box Tops incentives, and birthday sticks to name a few. Please continue to send in box tops, as well, as it has raised over $1200 so far this year to support our PTA enrichment programs!
We have recently lost two of our PTA board members, due to them leaving the school district. We welcome Julie Lightfoot to the position of VP of Communications, and Rachel Douglass to our PTA Council Liaison position. Thanks so much for quickly stepping up and filling these positions.
Have a fabulous January!
Your PTA President,
Melissa Herweck
