A Message from the President

There are so many activities happening in April!  Please be sure to check the district website, or the calendar included with the April Paw Pride newsletter.  See below for the link.First, we will have our DSES Art Show Thursday, April 9, beginning at 6 pm.

Friday, April 10, the PTA Board is hosting our School Board Candidates at 8 am in the Parent Center.  Please stay that morning to hear our candidates introduce themselves and then answer any questions from our parents.  Immediately following at 9 am, we will have our principals’ coffee, also in the Parent Center.  With the growth of our district and adding two new schools, our elected School Board members speak for us, so come hear what they have to say.  If you can’t attend ours on Friday, April 10, Rooster Springs will be hosting the candidates on Tuesday, April 14, at 8 am, following their PTA meeting.

April 15 and 16, from 5-7 pm will be Talent Show Try-Outs.  Our students are Drippin’ with Talent, so let’s showcase them.  The Talent Show will be held Friday, May 1.

Friday, April 17, at 6:30 pm will be our Family Movie Night, featuring The Lorax, in honor of Earth Day.  Plan to attend, and the first 100 students through the doors will receive a special spirit stick for the movie.  Concessions will be available for donations.  The movie will be shown with Spanish subtitles.

It’s that time of the year where school, sports and spring offer a frenzy of activities.  There are lots of ways to be involved and the new board will be elected at the PTA General Meeting on Wednesday, April 29.  We’ll be looking for committee coordinators, as well as officers for next year.

See you in the halls-Ricci

Habit 5 — Seek First to Understand, Then to Be

Listen Before You Talk
I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings. I try to see things from their viewpoints. I listen to others without interrupting. I am confident in voicing my ideas. I look people in the eyes when talking.
