A Message From the President
Single Digit Days til the end of school, but oh so many events and activities!
3rd Grade Market Days are Fri, May 22, please consider sending $2-3, in coin, for your student to shop. All proceeds will go towards their cost of Camp Champions in 5th Grade. Also there will be Spirit Stick Sales during lunches.
The Cool Cat Cash Store will open Wed/Thurs, May 27 & 28. We’d love to have any and all volunteers come out to the store and help during those days. The store is open from 8-2:45 both days.
Friday, May 29 is a Principals’ Coffee at 8am. Mon, June 1, are the Decades performances by the 5th Grade and Tues, June 2, is their Field Day/Fun Day with WSES & RSES.
Further down the newsletter, you will find the schedule for all grades Awards Ceremonies and Parties. Please note that PreK-3rd Grade will have awards and parties in their own classrooms, at a scheduled time. Only 4th & 5th Grades will have all grade awards in the gym.
I’ve truly enjoyed my time at DSE and being involved with our PTA. I’d like to thank the board members who served with me this year, (and past years) it’s been a labor of love. And I’d like to thank all the volunteers who helped with their time and talents. We have amazing support for our students from our parents and teachers, and it’s what makes our school so wonderful!
Enjoy a safe and happy summer, and hopefully I’ll still see you in the halls, just at the Middle School.
The 2014-2015 DSES PTA board and members would like to thank Ricci Dunn for the extremely unselfish service she has provided over the last two years in her position as president. She gave 110% of her time to DSES, making our school a very special and wonderful place to be- not only for the students, but for the teachers and parents as well.

ONE Volunteer to help with the Financial Reconciliation of the PTA treasurer and secretary records. This three member team reviews the disbursements and receipts of the treasurer’s records and notes they are recorded in the secretary binder as well. It is not a full scale audit, but rather a review for transparency of the PTA. Ideally, it is completed in late July or August before school starts and then a presentation of your findings is given at the first PTA meeting in August. If you would be interested in helping with this project, please email email@example.com.

Habit 5 — Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood Listen Before You Talk
I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings. I try to see things from their viewpoints. I listen to others without interrupting. I am confident in voicing my ideas. I look people in the eyes when talking.
